{"id":1342,"date":"2025-11-21T07:00:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T07:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1342"},"modified":"2025-11-21T07:00:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T07:00:11","slug":"carlos-alcaraz-warned-money-making-season-could-leave-him-tired-at-australian-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1342","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Alcaraz warned \u2018money-making season\u2019 could leave him tired at Australian Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s 2025 season came to a premature end due injury, but all eyes are now on his exhibition schedule with tennis great Jimmy Connors saying \u201cit\u2019s going to be interesting to see\u201d if he does play those events.<\/p>\n<p>The world No 1 was due to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/davis-cup\/spain-davis-cup-captain-delivers-verdict-carlos-alcaraz-tough-withdrawal\">represent Spain at the Davis Cup Finals<\/a> in Bologna this week, but he withdrew from the tournament after picking up an injury during the ATP Finals showpiece match against Jannik Sinner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Alcaraz<\/a> needed treatment on his hamstring in the first set, but managed to complete the match as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/carlos-alcaraz-warning-jannik-sinner-atpfinals\">he lost 7-6 (7-4), 7-5<\/a> as Sinner won the tournament without dropping a set.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the setback, he was positive he would play at the Davis Cup Finals, but he went for an MRI the following day as a precaution and the scans revealed the injury is more serious than initially thought.<\/p>\n<p>The six-time Grand Slam winner was told he runs the risk of tearing his hamstring if he plays and, as a result, it was decided he would not play in Bologna.<\/p>\n<p>But while Alcaraz\u2019s official tennis season is now over, he still has some exhibitions left this year as he will play two events in the United States in early December.<\/p>\n<p>The first is set for New Jersey on December 7 and the second will take place a day later in Miami.<\/p>\n<h2>Carlos Alcaraz News<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/facts-stats\/carlos-alcaraz-5-stats-which-prove-2025-was-best-year-career\">Carlos Alcaraz: 5 stats which prove 2025 was best year of Spaniard\u2019s career<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/carlos-alcaraz-jannik-sinner-prediction-grand-slam-2026\">Spanish great makes bold Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner prediction as he slams their rivals<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the Advantage Connors podcast featuring former world No 1 Connors and his son Brett, they discussed the ATP Finals and what\u2019s to come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCarlos had a little bit of a hamstring thing and got it treated during the match and made him pull out of the Davis Cup, which is going on right now, I don\u2019t know how much of a role that played,\u201d Brett stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a bummer when that happens because you just want to get them [win titles] clean, no excuses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cIt will be fun to see how those guys go into the new year, let\u2019s see how many exhibitions Carlos Alcaraz plays in the next month. \u2026It\u2019s the money-making season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The great Jimmy replied: \u201cYeah, it\u2019s the money-making season, like you haven\u2019t made enough anyway (laughs). More is better. It\u2019s going to be interesting to see. Do they force it and play more exhibitions and go into the Australian tired?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know they\u2019ll say, I\u2019ve been travelling, I\u2019ve been doing this, and I play too many exhibitions, too many specials.
