{"id":1497,"date":"2025-12-24T11:00:13","date_gmt":"2025-12-24T11:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1497"},"modified":"2025-12-24T11:00:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-24T11:00:13","slug":"carlos-alcarazs-ex-coach-opens-the-door-to-sensational-move-to-jannik-sinners-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1497","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s ex-coach opens the door to sensational move to Jannik Sinner\u2019s team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s former coach Juan Carlos Ferrero has not ruled out coaching Jannik Sinner in the future but said he wants \u201ctwo or three months\u201d off first.<\/p>\n<p>The coaching split was not something many saw coming given the year Alcaraz had which saw him win two Grand Slams and return to the World No.1 spot but reports of disputes over training locations and money have trickled out since the break up.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Ferrero has given an interview to Spanish newspaper <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marca.com\/tenis\/2025\/12\/24\/ferrero-forma-jugar-carlos-me-tenia-enamorado-mejor-historia.html\">Marca<\/a> and as well as Alcaraz, the name of Jannik Sinner was mentioned as one who made more sense from a coaching matchup.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether he would be open to working with the Italian in the future, Ferrero insisted he was not looking for any immediate work but did not close the door to doing so in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve adapted my style as much as I could for Carlos,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m not considering other options at all because I need two or three months of peace and quiet and for the pain to subside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter that, if other possibilities arise, we\u2019ll weigh them up. In the end, it\u2019s been almost eight years nonstop and a lot of time away from home. And as with any new contract, looking ahead to the following year, there were certain things we disagreed on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs with all contracts, one side pulls in one direction and the other in another. Carlos\u2019s camp thinks about what\u2019s best for him, and mine thinks about what\u2019s best for me. There were certain issues on which both parties disagreed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPerhaps they could have been resolved if we had sat down to talk, but in the end, we didn\u2019t, and we decided not to continue. That\u2019s really what happened. There are points I won\u2019t go into detail about, but we disagreed on them, and ultimately, we went our separate ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Want more from Tennis365?
