{"id":1524,"date":"2025-12-30T06:30:20","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T06:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1524"},"modified":"2025-12-30T06:30:20","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T06:30:20","slug":"carlos-alcaraz-attracted-to-off-court-temptations-all-the-girls-are-chasing-you-suggests-former-world-no-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1524","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Alcaraz \u2018attracted to off-court temptations \u2026 all the girls are chasing you\u2019, suggests former world No 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former world No 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov has given his take on Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s decision to part ways with Juan Carlos Ferrero and has suggested \u201cit must have been hard to deal with him [Alcaraz] lately\u201d due to \u201coff-court temptations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few weeks after the conclusion of the 2025 tennis season, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Alcaraz<\/a> dropped a bombshell as he announced he had split from Ferrero following seven successful years that saw him win six Grand Slams and become world No 1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/carlos-alcarazs-full-statetement-as-he-announces-shock-split-from-juan-carlos-ferrero\">The decision was a shock to most<\/a> in the tennis community, but it has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/relationship-between-carlos-alcaraz-father-juan-carlos-ferrero-deteriorating-sources\">since emerged that there had been tension<\/a> between Alcaraz\u2019s entourage \u2013 which includes his father Carlos Alcaraz Senior \u2013 and Ferrero while there have also been reports that the parties could not settle on a new contract.<\/p>\n<p>And now two-time Grand Slam winner Kafelnikov has shared his thoughts on the matter and believes Alcaraz likely struggled to resist the \u201coutside noise\u201d that comes with being successful and made life difficult for the \u201cextremely professional\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.claytenis.com\/interviews\/yevgeny-kafelnikov-alcaraz-ferrero-atp\/\">CLAY<\/a>, he said: \u201cLook, it\u2019s always easy to talk when you\u2019re not on the inside and you don\u2019t know exactly what happened behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKnowing that Juan Carlos is extremely professional \u2013 he was exactly the same as a player \u2013 I\u2019m sure he wants the very best from his players, and his standards of professionalism are very high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProbably, with Carlos being Spanish, very young, and attracted to all the off-court temptations that come with success\u2026 it must have been hard to deal with him lately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s understandable \u2013 you\u2019re 22 years old, all the girls are chasing you, there\u2019s fame and everything that goes with it. Nobody could resist that at such a young age.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJuan Carlos probably saw all of this and was trying to separate the work on court from all the outside noise. But why would you end such a happy partnership in the first place?\u201d Kafelnikov wondered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt least it looked like it was happy\u2026 There were never any signs that they would go their separate ways \u2013 winning Slams, being number one in the world\u2026 I am sure that Carlos\u2019s father has a lot to do with this split, not Carlos himself.
