Tennis icon Boris Becker has issued a warning to Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev \u2014 and the rest of the ATP Tour \u2014 after Jack Draper\u2019s Indian Wells triumph.<\/p>\n
Draper<\/a>\u00a0crushed Holger Rune 6-2, 6-2 in the final of the Indian Wells Open to secure his maiden Masters 1000 crown and biggest title to date.<\/p>\n The British star broke the 21-year-old Dane twice in each set and did not face a single break point in a dominant display.<\/p>\n The 23-year-old also overcame Alcaraz<\/a>, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, Jenson Brooksby and Joao Fonseca in an outstanding title run in the Californian desert. The only set Draper dropped in his six victories was in his three-set semi-final win over Alcaraz.<\/p>\n Draper\u2019s third career title has lifted him into the top 10 of the ATP rankings for the first time and up to a\u00a0new career-high position of world No 7.<\/p>\n He holds a 13-2 record in 2025 and sits third in the Race to the ATP Finals in Turin after his superb start to the campaign.<\/p>\n In a post on X, Becker \u2014 a six-time Grand Slam winner and former world No 1 \u2014 heaped praise on Draper and sent a word of caution to other players at the top of the men\u2019s game.<\/p>\n \u201cI like @jackdraper0,\u201d wrote the German. \u201cSo well spoken, educated, humble and a beast on the tennis court !<\/p>\n Jack Draper set to challenge Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz after Indian Wells win<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Money and points earned by Mirra Andreeva, Jack Draper, Novak Djokovic, Emma Raducanu earn in Indian Wells<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI want more from him rest of the year \u2026 Be aware @janniksin @AlexZverev @carlosalcaraz ! @atptour.\u201d<\/p>\n In a previous tweet, Becker had congratulated Draper on his achievement while criticising the performance of Rune \u2014 who he coached briefly in late 2023.<\/p>\n \u201cHuge congratulations to @jackdraper0 for winning @BNPPARIBASOPEN! Great Britain should be proud!!!<\/p>\n \u201c@holgerrune2003 didn\u2019t show up today\u2026 Why ? Only he knows ! Anyway, good luck to both players for the rest of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n After the final, Rune reflected on his run in a social media post.<\/p>\n \u201cNot the final I dreamt about. But happy to be on the right track. Draper was on it this week and deserved the title here,\u201d the world No 12 said.<\/p>\n \u201cI went one step closer after seven semi-finals the past year , nice to be in a final again, but now I am hungry for the real trophies.
