{"id":1919,"date":"2026-03-23T16:10:24","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T16:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1919"},"modified":"2026-03-23T16:10:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T16:10:24","slug":"miami-open-alex-ealas-prize-money-ranking-points-revealed-after-emphatic-exit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=1919","title":{"rendered":"Miami Open: Alex Eala\u2019s prize money &amp; ranking points revealed after emphatic exit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alex Eala\u2019s Miami Open campaign could not have ended in more brutal fashion on Monday, with the 31st seed handed a heavy defeat by Karolina Muchova at the WTA 1000 event.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/alex-eala\">Eala<\/a> had impressed in the early stages of her campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/alex-eala-avoids-rankings-blow-complaining-opponents-behaviour-miami-open\">starting with a battling three-set win over the experienced Laura Siegemund in the second round<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/alex-eala-rankings-boost-miami-open\">That was then followed by a straight-sets win over Magda Linette in round three<\/a>, with the Filipina looking to recapture the magic from her breakout semi-final run at this event back in 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>Tennis News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/wim-fissette-comments-iga-swiatek-split-miami-open\">Miami Open: Iga Swiatek\u2019s ex-coach Wim Fissette makes \u2018wanted more\u2019 comment after split<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/carlos-alcaraz-shock-miami-open-loss-sebastian-korda-justine-henin\">Carlos Alcaraz \u2018will benefit\u2019 from shock Miami Open loss as tennis icon issues \u2018simply human\u2019 verdict<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, the Filipina\u2019s run came to a sudden halt in the fourth round, with 13th seed and Qatar Open champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/karolina-muchova\">Muchova<\/a> sealing an emphatic 6-0, 6-2 triumph to reach the last eight.<\/p>\n<h2>What prize money will Eala take home?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/2026-miami-open-what-prize-money-and-ranking-points-will-be-on-offer\">Significant prize money is on offer at the Miami Open in 2026<\/a>, with the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles champions both set to take home an impressive $1,151,380 for their respective triumphs.<\/p>\n<p>By entering the tournament in the second round, Eala guaranteed herself at least $36,110 in winnings from the event, and this increased to $61,865 by reaching the third round.<\/p>\n<p>By progressing to the fourth round and ultimately exiting the WTA 1000 event at that stage, Eala will take home $105,720 in prize money from the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, she had earned $332,160 for reaching the semi-final.<\/p>\n<h2>What ranking points will Eala earn?<\/h2>\n<p>Like all WTA 1000 tournaments, 1,000 points are on offer for this year\u2019s women\u2019s singles champion in Miami.<\/p>\n<p>Eala had earned a significant 390 ranking points for her run to the semi-final twelve months ago, though she has fallen noticeably short of earning those points in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Filipina was assured of 10 ranking points for entering the tournament and then guaranteed herself 65 ranking points by reaching round three in Miami.<\/p>\n<p>However, by reaching the fourth round and ultimately tasting defeat to Muchova, the 20-year-old will take home just 120 points from the WTA 1000 event this year.<\/p>\n<h2>How will Eala\u2019s ranking be affected?<\/h2>\n<p>As a result of Monday\u2019s fourth-round exit, Eala will drop 270 ranking points, and is projected to drop from 1,525 points to 1,255 points when the WTA Rankings officially update next Monday.<\/p>\n<p>And, as a result, the 20-year-old is set for a significant rankings drop next week.<\/p>\n<p>As per the WTA Live Rankings, Eala is currently projected to fall 16 places to world No 45 in the WTA Rankings when they update next week.<\/p>\n<p>The Filipina\u2019s official ranking next week is yet to be confirmed, with action still ongoing in Miami, though she is guaranteed to be outside the top 40.<\/p>\n<p>Eala is set to return to action at the WTA 500 Linz Open in early April, with the Filipina starting her clay-court season at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Want more from Tennis365?
