{"id":198,"date":"2025-03-23T12:05:36","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T12:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=198"},"modified":"2025-03-23T12:05:36","modified_gmt":"2025-03-23T12:05:36","slug":"the-9-men-with-most-miami-open-match-wins-andre-agassi-with-61-novak-djokovic-3rd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=198","title":{"rendered":"The 9 men with most Miami Open match wins: Andre Agassi with 61, Novak Djokovic 3rd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Miami Open is one of the most prestigious titles in tennis \u2013 and several ATP greats have found success at the tournament over the years.<\/p>\n<p>With the 2025 Miami open in full swing, we countdown the nine men who have recorded the most match wins at the iconic tournament.<\/p>\n<h4>=8) Andy Roddick \u2013 33 wins<\/h4>\n<p>The last US man to be ranked world No 1 and win a Grand Slam title, Roddick starts this countdown with 33 match wins to his name.<\/p>\n<p>Roddick\u2019s Miami Open career was highlighted by winning the title in 2004 and 2010, while he was also a beaten semi-finalist in 2008.<\/p>\n<h4>=8) Jim Courier \u2013 33 wins<\/h4>\n<p>Another great of the American game, four-time Grand Slam winner Courier matches compatriot Roddick with 33 match wins at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Courier completed the \u2018Sunshine Double\u2019 by lifting the Miami Open title in 1991, and the former world No 1 also reached a further three semi-finals at the Masters 1000 event.<\/p>\n<h4>=6) Tomas Berdych \u2013 34 wins<\/h4>\n<p>Berdych never quite got his hands on the Miami Open title, but the Czech star still found some success at the event.<\/p>\n<p>The former world No 4 was runner-up to Roddick in the 2010 final, while he made the semi-final on three further occasions.<\/p>\n<h4>=6) David Ferrer \u2013 34 wins<\/h4>\n<p>Matching Berdych on 34 wins is former world No 3 Ferrer, who also just missed out in triumphing in Florida.<\/p>\n<p>The Spaniard was a beaten finalist at the event in 2013 and also reached a further two semi-finals across his long and successful career.<\/p>\n<h4>=5) Rafael Nadal \u2013 40 wins<\/h4>\n<p>Tennis icon Nadal holds a rather unfortunate place in Miami history as the man to pick up the most match wins without ever winning the title.<\/p>\n<p>Nadal lost five Miami Open finals \u2013 in 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, and 2017 \u2013 while he also progressed to two more semi-finals at the Masters 1000 event.<\/p>\n<h4>4) Pete Sampras \u2013 42 wins<\/h4>\n<p>Arguably the greatest US male player of the Open Era, former world No 1 Sampras is one of just five men to have won over 40 matches at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Sampras\u2019 record at the Miami Open is highlighted by back-to-back triumphs in 1993 and 1994 and then a third title in 2000, while he was also a beaten finalist in 1995.<\/p>\n<h2>Miami Open News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/jack-draper-carlos-alcaraz-indian-wells-semi-finalists-make-unfortunate-history-after-miami-exits\">Jack Draper, Carlos Alcaraz &amp;
