{"id":2054,"date":"2026-04-19T07:45:52","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T07:45:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2054"},"modified":"2026-04-19T07:45:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T07:45:52","slug":"madrid-open-withdrawal-list-emma-raducanu-joins-carlos-alcaraz-novak-djokovic-as-17-players-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2054","title":{"rendered":"Madrid Open withdrawal list: Emma Raducanu joins Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic as 17 players out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The number of players to withdraw from the 2026 Madrid Open has risen to 17 across both the women\u2019s and men\u2019s singles tournaments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/madrid-open-withdrawals-13-stars-out-novak-djokovic-carlos-alcaraz-growing-list\">By Saturday, 13 players had pulled out of the Madrid Open, with Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic the biggest names to withdraw.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since then, four women have joined the list, including former Grand Slam champions Barbora Krejcikova and Emma Raducanu.<\/p>\n<p>The combined event in Madrid is the first clay-court WTA 1000 of the season and second clay-court ATP 1000 after Monte Carlo.<\/p>\n<p>Both the ATP and WTA tournaments in Madrid feature 96 players, including 32 seeds \u2014 who receive an opening round bye.<\/p>\n<p>Main draw action in the women\u2019s event will begin on Tuesday, while the men\u2019s tournament will get underway on Wednesday.
