{"id":2058,"date":"2026-04-20T13:15:52","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T13:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2058"},"modified":"2026-04-20T13:15:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T13:15:52","slug":"madrid-open-withdrawals-jack-draper-latest-to-pull-out-as-list-increases-to-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2058","title":{"rendered":"Madrid Open withdrawals: Jack Draper latest to pull out as list increases to 21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jack Draper has become the latest ATP star to withdraw from the Madrid Open with the total number of players who have pulled out of the combined ATP-WTA tournament now more than 20.<\/p>\n<p>The WTA 1000 competition gets underway on Tuesday, 21 April at Caja Magica in the Spanish capital while the ATP event starts the following day, but organisers have suffered several withdrawals in the buildup to the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest setback so far has been the absence of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/carlos-alcaraz-withdraws-madrid-masters-injury-concern-grows-hurts-me\">two-time champion and Spanish hero Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> as the world No 2 withdrew last week after picking up a forearm injury during his Barcelona Open campaign.<\/p>\n<p>That news came just hours after tennis great <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/novak-djokovics-next-move-issues-23-word-madrid-open-message\">Novak Djokovic announced<\/a> that he would not feature at the ATP Masters tournament as he is still recovering from an unspecified injury.<\/p>\n<h2>Tennis News<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/atp-madrid-open-draw-jannik-sinner-entry-confirmed-shelton-fils-draper-musetti-in-same-quarter\">ATP Madrid Open draw: Sinner\u2019s entry confirmed;
