{"id":2105,"date":"2026-04-29T14:00:54","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T14:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2105"},"modified":"2026-04-29T14:00:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T14:00:54","slug":"madrid-open-arthur-fils-gives-blunt-answer-to-jannik-sinner-winning-streak-question","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2105","title":{"rendered":"Madrid Open: Arthur Fils gives blunt answer to Jannik Sinner winning streak question"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arthur Fils has been outstanding since his comeback from a serious back injury, and he is currently on the longest winning streak of his ATP Tour career.<\/p>\n<p>The world No 25 has won his last eight matches: five to claim the Barcelona Open title, and three to reach the quarter-finals at the Madrid Masters.<\/p>\n<p>Since returning to the tour in February,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/arthur-fils\">Fils<\/a> has amassed a stellar 21-5 (80.8%) record across events in Montpellier, Rotterdam, Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Barcelona and Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman defeated Terence Atmane, Brandon Nakashima, Lorenzo Musetti, Rafael Jodar and Andrey Rublev during his Barcelona title run<\/p>\n<p>In Madrid, Fils has beaten Ignacio Buse, Emilio Nava and Tomas Martin Etcheverry. For me, it\u2019s not possible to even consider that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the most I\u2019ve done in my career is maybe eight or nine. We\u2019re at eight today, we\u2019ll try to reach nine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old added: \u201cIt feels good, it\u2019s a good habit. You get to the court, you play, you win, you go back to the hotel, you do your treatment, you come back the next day and you win again. It\u2019s a really good thing, it\u2019s not common, so when it happens I just enjoy it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor now, I\u2019m just trying to win one more, then we\u2019ll see about those players who win 20 in a row or 17 in a row. For me, right now, it\u2019s not possible.
