{"id":2122,"date":"2026-05-02T13:50:45","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T13:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2122"},"modified":"2026-05-02T13:50:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T13:50:45","slug":"madrid-open-jannik-sinner-makes-carlos-alcaraz-comment-as-he-reveals-how-he-is-trying-to-improve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2122","title":{"rendered":"Madrid Open: Jannik Sinner makes Carlos Alcaraz comment as he reveals how he is \u2018trying to improve\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jannik Sinner has commented on a shot he is trying to improve as he admitted he is \u201cdefinitely not at the level\u201d of Carlos Alcaraz in this area.<\/p>\n<p>The world No 1, who is on a 22-match winning streak, is trying to win his fifth successive Masters 1000 title at the 2026 Madrid Open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\">Sinner<\/a> secured Masters titles at his last three events in Monte Carlo, Miami and Indian Wells, while he also won the Paris Masters at the end of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p>The four-time Grand Slam champion will take on world No 3 Alexander Zverev in the final in the Spanish capital after defeating Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4 in the last four on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian star has been incorporating drop shots into his game with increasing effectiveness and frequency in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>In his press conference after reaching the Madrid Open final, Sinner was asked about his use of drop shots during the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a part of my game I\u2019m trying to improve, of course,\u201d said Sinner. \u201cBut I\u2019m definitely not at the level of Carlos, that\u2019s for sure. But I\u2019m still trying. But for me, I don\u2019t have a technique. I\u2019m just happy to be part of the match.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople come to see good tennis, and sometimes people, they\u2019re not against you, they just want to see a little bit more tennis, so I also understand them. Yeah, that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, I try to stay also calm in very tough moments. This is just how I am, it doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s good or bad. Everyone is different.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut yeah, the crowd can give you a lot of positives. Me, when I play in Italy, it means a lot to me, Of course. I always say you have an extra shot playing with the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut honestly, even when I played against Rafael [Jodar] here, it was a nice atmosphere.
