{"id":224,"date":"2025-03-28T11:17:21","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T11:17:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=224"},"modified":"2025-03-28T11:17:21","modified_gmt":"2025-03-28T11:17:21","slug":"alex-eala-points-and-prize-money-from-her-fairytale-miami-open-run-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=224","title":{"rendered":"Alex Eala: Points and prize money from her fairytale Miami Open run revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Teenage sensation Alex Eala\u2019s fairytale run at the 2025 Miami Open is over, and she will leave the tournament with huge boosts to her ranking and earnings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/alex-eala\">Eala<\/a> pushed world No 4 Jessica Pegula hard in the semi-finals at the WTA 1000 event before ultimately falling 6-7(3), 7-5, 3-6 after\u00a0two hours and 26 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The 140th-ranked wildcard made history by becoming the first player from the Philippines to reach the last four of a tour-level event.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old defeated three Grand Slam champions during her run at the Hard Rock Stadium: Jelena Ostapenko, Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek.<\/p>\n<p>Her stunning 6-2, 7-5 quarter-final win over Swiatek, a five-time major winner and the current world No 2, was a seismic upset.<\/p>\n<p>Eala earned all four of her victories in Miami in straight sets, while she also received a last 16 walkover from Paula Badosa, who was forced to withdraw due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>Following her loss to Pegula, Eala told reporters:\u00a0\u201cOf course, I\u2019m disappointed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut there\u2019s so many times in tennis where you have to dig out the dirt to look for the positive and now I\u2019m enjoying it because there\u2019s so much positive around me and I don\u2019t know how many times that has happened, so I\u2019m just lucky to have been able to experience these two weeks.<\/p>\n<h2>WTA Tour News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/jessica-pegula-stat-alex-eala-reaches-miami-open-final\"><strong>Jessica Pegula achieves stellar WTA 1000 stat as she ends Alex Eala\u2019s dream Miami Open run<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/alex-eala-explains-surprise-toni-nadal-appearance-during-stunning-miami-open-win\"><strong>Alex Eala explains surprise Toni Nadal appearance during stunning Miami Open win<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe match I played was amazing and she played amazing. I definitely had my chances and I definitely have things that I could\u2019ve done better, but I literally gave everything I had \u2014 as you see I\u2019m taped up like a mummy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eala added: \u201cI think I\u2019m going to reset and build my body back up so that my next tournament I can go all out full and can give everything I have again.
