Former world No 3 Ivan Ljubicic does not think Alexander Zverev\u2019s 2026 French Open title will \u201cchange much\u201d as he said the German \u201cwon a match he should have won\u201d in the final.<\/p>\n
Zverev defeated Flavio Cobolli 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-1 in a tension-filled championship match lasting four hours and 16 minutes at Roland Garros last week.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old\u2019s victory in Paris ended his wait for his maiden Grand Slam title after he had previously lost in three major finals.<\/p>\n
Zverev<\/a>, who is the world No 3, became the first German man to win the French Open in the Open Era and the first to secure a major in singles since Boris Becker in 1996.<\/p>\n Ljubicic assessed that Zverev\u2019s triumph \u201cdoesn\u2019t represent a technical or tactical transformation\u201d and suggested it will not impact his ability to challenge Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think it will change much.
