{"id":2321,"date":"2026-06-12T17:00:39","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T17:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2321"},"modified":"2026-06-12T17:00:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T17:00:39","slug":"wimbledon-withdrawal-list-victoria-mboko-joins-carlos-alcaraz-as-7-stars-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2321","title":{"rendered":"Wimbledon withdrawal list: Victoria Mboko joins Carlos Alcaraz as 7 stars out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s early withdrawal from Wimbledon was a major blow, and the grass-court Grand Slam has now been hit by another big name pulling out.<\/p>\n<p>The start of the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon Championships<\/a> is still over two weeks away, with the 139th edition of the historic tournament set to be held from 29 June to 12 July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/wimbledon-withdrawal-list-carlos-alcaraz-joined-top-20-star-big-names-in-doubt\">By Thursday, there were five players who had pulled out of Wimbledon across both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s singles entry lists<\/a>, and that number has now risen to seven.<\/p>\n<p>Following Alcaraz, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/victoria-mboko\">Victoria Mboko<\/a> \u2014 the WTA world No 9 \u2014 is the second top 10 player to withdraw from the year\u2019s third major.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian star\u2019s withdrawal came after she was forced to retire in her opening singles match at the Queen\u2019s Club Championships on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Mboko hurt her left knee in a nasty fall, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/victoria-mboko-message-injury-wimbledon-serena-williams\">she has since revealed she sustained an MCL injury.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, my fall on Wednesday caused an injury to the MCL on my left knee, which sadly means I will miss the remainder of the grass season,\u201d the 19-year-old wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n<h2>Wimbledon News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/nick-kyrgios-and-stan-wawrinka-handed-fresh-wimbledon-wildcard-setback\"><strong>Nick Kyrgios and Stan Wawrinka handed fresh Wimbledon wildcard setback<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/wimbledons-64-2m-prize-money-boost-wont-silence-players-warn-finance-experts\"><strong>Wimbledon\u2019s \u00a364.2m prize money boost won\u2019t silence players, warn finance experts<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Want more from Tennis365?
