{"id":2340,"date":"2026-06-16T12:00:56","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T12:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2340"},"modified":"2026-06-16T12:00:56","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T12:00:56","slug":"wimbledon-wildcards-serena-williams-return-confirmed-maja-chwalinska-learns-fate-nick-kyrgios-left-waiting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2340","title":{"rendered":"Wimbledon wildcards: Serena Williams\u2019 return confirmed, Maja Chwalinska learns fate, Nick Kyrgios left waiting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wimbledon have announced all but three of the players who have received singles wildcards for this year\u2019s tournament, while some big name doubles teams have been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon Championships<\/a> is less than two weeks away, with main draw action set to take place from Monday 29 June to Sunday 12 July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/serena-williams\">Serena Williams<\/a> made a sensational comeback in doubles at the Queen\u2019s Club Championships last week, and it had been expected that the tennis icon would make her return to Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>It has now been confirmed that the 44-year-old and her older sister Venus Williams have been given a wildcard for the women\u2019s doubles event at the All England Club.<\/p>\n<p>The Williams sisters won six Wimbledon doubles titles together between 2000 and 2016.<\/p>\n<p>There had been much debate over which players would receive main draw singles wildcards, with a host of high-profile stars ranked outside the top 100 at the time of the entry list cutoff.<\/p>\n<p>Some questions have now been answered, with seven of the eight women\u2019s wildcards and six of the eight men\u2019s wildcards having been confirmed.<\/p>\n<h2>Wimbledon News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/jannik-sinner-huge-favourite-to-win-wimbledon-mats-wilander\"><strong>Jannik Sinner \u2018still a huge favourite to win Wimbledon\u2019 after Roland Garros collapse<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/wimbledon-withdrawal-list-victoria-mboko-joins-carlos-alcaraz-7-stars-out\"><strong>Wimbledon withdrawal list: Victoria Mboko joins Carlos Alcaraz as 7 stars out<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Want more from Tennis365?
