{"id":2444,"date":"2026-07-06T17:30:52","date_gmt":"2026-07-06T17:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2444"},"modified":"2026-07-06T17:30:52","modified_gmt":"2026-07-06T17:30:52","slug":"alejandro-davidovich-fokina-breaks-silence-on-felix-auger-aliassime-controversy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2444","title":{"rendered":"Alejandro Davidovich Fokina breaks silence on Felix Auger-Aliassime controversy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Felix Auger-Aliassime were embroiled in drama during their fourth round match at Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>Auger-Aliassime ended up winning the match in five sets, but there was controversy during the fourth set between the Canadian and the Spaniard.<\/p>\n<p>Davidovich Fokina struggled with an ankle injury while he had two break points to take the set during the fourth set and he called the physio.<\/p>\n<p>After the physio, Auger-Aliassime hit a double fault to concede the fourth set to Davidovich Fokina and take the match to a decider.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/felix-auger-aliassime-wimbledon-fall-out-alejandro-davidovich-fokina\" target=\"_blank\">Auger-Aliassime was far from happy and called the moment a \u2018disgrace\u2019<\/a> in his post-match press conference, where he also called for a rule change.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBut to stop in the middle of an opponent\u2019s service game and to be able to call the physio, I think that\u2019s a disgrace of a rule,\u201d said the Canadian in his post-match press conference. \u201cI don\u2019t see any other sport where you can do that. I mark my words. It\u2019s something we\u2019re dealing with every day. I haven\u2019t even had time to rest for three consecutive days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had to deal with it, Voltaren every day\u2026 I\u2019m going to get an MRI now, but it was just one movement, when I slide and my foot rolls inwards, that\u2019s the only movement, that\u2019s what happened today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t control some movements, so when my foot rolls like that, it\u2019s 30 or 40 seconds where I see stars, and then the pain goes away, I\u2019m pain-free.
