Andy Murray<\/a> retired from tennis in 2024, but he has still kept in touch with the sport since hanging up his racket.<\/p>\n

Following his final-ever tennis match at the Paris Olympics in 2024, Murray almost instantly went into coaching by joining Novak Djokovic\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

Djokovic and Murray worked together for the early part of the 2026 season, including the Australian Open, but the all-star partnership did not end with any success.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Murray has worked with Jack Draper sporadically, overseeing the star\u2019s run to the Eastbourne Open semi finals and flying across to the Washington Open to work with the star, before his eventual withdrawal from the tournament.<\/p>\n

Despite his forays into tennis, Murray<\/a> has no desire whatsover to play the sport competitively again.<\/p>\n

Asked by BBC Sport Scotland<\/a> if he would ever return to tennis like Serena Williams<\/a> has, Murray responded: \u201cNah I\u2019ve got no interest and I\u2019m really happy about that.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, I\u2019ve not missed it at all. Don\u2019t really hit balls anymore, you know, unless I have to. Just enjoying being away from the sport for a bit. Yeah, playing golf, being with my family, and just doing normal things for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murray will likely have a keen eye on what Williams is doing once again in tennis, despite having no desire to join her.<\/p>\n

The pair are firm friends and they even joined forces for a memorably run in the Wimbledon<\/a> mixed doubles back in 2019.<\/p>\n

They reached the third round of the Grand Slam, but eventually fell to Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in three sets.<\/p>\n

As for Murray\u2019s partnership with Draper<\/a>, it is currently unclear whether that will continue any longer.<\/p>\n

The British star, who has been riddled with injuries over the past year, is set to play the US Open<\/a> qualifying at Flushing Meadows during the opening week.<\/p>\n

Should Murray appear alongside Draper, it will be his first appearance at the US Open since 2023, when he reached the second round of the tournament.<\/p>\n

The Scot defeated Corentin Moutet<\/a> in round one, before being beaten in straight sets by Grigor Dimitrov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Murray has plenty of history at the US Open, having claimed his very first Grand Slam title at the event in 2012, when he beat Novak Djokovic<\/a> in the final.<\/p>\n

He also reached the final in 2008 and claimed the US Open juniors title in 2004, beating Sergiy Stakhovsky in the final.<\/p>\n

Currently, Murray is enjoying another tennis-adjacent project, having launched The Set YouTube channel alongside his brother Jamie Murray<\/a>, who retired earlier this year.<\/p>\n
