{"id":2736,"date":"2026-09-03T17:00:54","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T17:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2736"},"modified":"2026-09-03T17:00:54","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T17:00:54","slug":"john-mcenroe-predicts-how-many-more-grand-slams-carlos-alcaraz-could-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=2736","title":{"rendered":"John McEnroe predicts how many more Grand Slams Carlos Alcaraz could win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis legend John McEnroe has reiterated that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> is his \u201cfavourite player\u201d and assessed how many more Grand Slam titles the Spaniard could win in his career.<\/p>\n<p>Having turned 23 in May, Alcaraz already has seven major titles to his name, and he is currently in action at the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/us-open\">US Open<\/a>, where he is trying to defend his title.<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz became the youngest man in tennis history to complete the career Grand Slam when he secured his maiden Australian Open title at the start of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The former world No 1 is a two-time champion at the US Open, Wimbledon, and the French Open. He is my favourite tennis player, just as he is for many fans,\u201d said the seven-time major champion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is incredible for our sport and has a fantastic personality. We all hope he\u2019s okay and can continue to excel for at least another ten years. That would make him 33 \u2014 six years younger than Novak is now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy great rival Bjorn Borg played his last match at 25. That is the last thing we want to see happen to Carlos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would be terrible if he couldn\u2019t become the player he once was. If he stays fit, he could win at least ten more majors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the US Open, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/john-mcenroe-us-open-favourite-carlos-alcaraz-novak-djokovic-alexander-zverev\">McEnroe told Eurosport that top seed Alexander Zverev was his favourite to win the tournament.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are strong arguments that he (Zverev) is the favourite for the title,\u201d said the American.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though things haven\u2019t gone particularly well for him this summer, I believe he is more confident than ever.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe played brilliantly at Wimbledon and seemed to be playing at almost his absolute best.
