Eala<\/a>\u2018s decision to represent the Philippines at the 2026 Asian Games means she will miss the China Open due to a schedule clash between the two events.<\/p>\n

The China Open is one of the 10 WTA 1000 tournaments, which are mandatory events all players are expected to compete in \u2014 unless they are granted an exemption.<\/p>\n

The penalties for missing mandatory WTA tournaments range from ranking point deductions to fines.<\/p>\n
