{"id":321,"date":"2025-04-17T14:29:26","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T14:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=321"},"modified":"2025-04-17T14:29:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-17T14:29:26","slug":"novak-djokovic-arrived-with-a-very-average-game-its-incredible-he-surpassed-federer-nadal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=321","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Novak Djokovic arrived with a very average game \u2013 it\u2019s incredible he surpassed Federer &amp; Nadal\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leading tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou has declared that Novak Djokovic has proven that mentality is the \u201cmost important thing\u201d in tennis as he\u00a0labelled the Serb \u201cthe strongest\u201d of the Big Three.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\">Djokovic<\/a> has collected most of the most significant records in men\u2019s tennis during his remarkable career.<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old has won a men\u2019s record 24 Grand Slam titles, having surpassed his great rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer \u2014 who rank second and third with 22 and 20 majors respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurosport.fr\/tennis\/atp-monte-carlo\/2025\/interview-de-patrick-mouratoglou-la-mentalite-francaise-nest-pas-une-mentalite-de-gagnant_sto23171282\/story.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Eurosport France<\/a>, Mouratoglou claimed Djokovic initially had a \u201cvery average game\u201d and argued this makes his ascension to the very top all the more incredible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look at the three greatest, whether it pleases you or not, there is one of the three who is the greatest of all,\u201d assessed the Frenchman.\u00a0\u201cHe was world number one the longest, he won the most Grand Slams, the most Masters 1000, he beats them everywhere. It\u2019s Novak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look at the three, there are two who occupied the position when Novak arrived. Everyone said they were unbeatable. Novak arrived with a very average game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven today, at the end of his career, when you look at Rafa\u2019s game, Roger\u2019s game, Novak\u2019s game, it\u2019s incredible that Novak is the strongest of the three, the one who broke all the records.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt shows that the most important thing is not in the tennis, in the racket. If we base it on another criterion, it\u2019s completely subjective, it no longer means anything. The very idea of \u200b\u200bthe top level is \u2018who is the best?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlayers compete against each other; at the end of each week, there\u2019s a best of the week; at the end of each year, there\u2019s a best of the year.
