{"id":359,"date":"2025-04-25T13:33:50","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T13:33:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=359"},"modified":"2025-04-25T13:33:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T13:33:50","slug":"i-believe-novak-djokovic-can-win-more-slams-in-tennis-terms-he-is-the-best","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=359","title":{"rendered":"\u2018I believe Novak Djokovic can win more Slams \u2013 in tennis terms, he is the best\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Juan Martin del Potro has proclaimed that Novak Djokovic will be \u201cthe best\u201d for as long as he continues playing and expressed his belief that the Serb can win more majors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\">Djokovic<\/a>\u00a0holds the all-time men\u2019s Grand Slam singles title record, having secured his 24th and\u00a0most recent major at the 2023 US Open.<\/p>\n<p>The Serbian has won 10\u00a0titles at the Australian Open, seven at Wimbledon, four at the US Open and three at the French Open.<\/p>\n<p>The closest Djokovic has come to claiming a 25th Grand Slam crown was at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, where he was a runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz.\u00a0He was also a semi-finalist at the last two editions of the Australian Open.<\/p>\n<p>The next stop on Djokovic\u2019s major quest is this year\u2019s French Open, which will be held from May 25 to June 8.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic, who will turn 38 on May 22, won his 99th and most recent title at the 2024 Paris Olympics in August.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.olympics.com\/pt\/noticias\/juan-martin-del-potro-joao-fonseca-novak-djokovic-jogos-olimpicos\" target=\"_blank\">Olympics.com<\/a>, del Potro was asked if the young generation of Joao Fonseca, Jakub Mensik and Learner Tien has the potential to be the best since the Big Three.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoao\u2019s generation could be a good generation, but it\u2019s too early to say if they will be as good [as Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz],\u201d said the Argentine.<\/p>\n<h2>Novak Djokovic News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/news\/novak-djokovic-madrid-open-record-pathway-100th-atp-title\"><strong>Novak Djokovic\u2019s Madrid Open titles, record, and pathway to 100th ATP title in 2025<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/atp-tour\/novak-djokovic-reveals-priority-insight-work-andy-murray\"><strong>Novak Djokovic reveals \u2018priority\u2019 as he gives insight into work with Andy Murray<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is potential, but often talent is not enough. It takes work, discipline, being healthy. Besides, Djokovic is still playing and, as long as he\u2019s active, he\u2019s the best.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinning a Grand Slam is something very personal for him, I believe. I believe he can win more Slams. In tennis terms, he is the best. He has a lot of experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he can be in good physical shape, he will keep trying and possibly succeed. It would be a great thing for the world of tennis if he manages to win again after some time, as he did in Paris with the gold medal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2009 US Open winner and former world No 3 also revealed he would coach Djokovic if his friend and former rival offered him the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have my tennis academy in Boynton Beach, Florida. That excites me a lot, coaching kids, all kinds of people,\u201d del Potro added when asked about coaching on the tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be a full-time coach, you have to travel a lot again, be all over the world. I did that for 20 years and I\u2019m tired. But of course, if Novak asks me to work with him, I\u2019ll be happy [laughs]. I couldn\u2019t say no to him, but now I think so.
