In an astonishing contest inside the Caja Magica, Gauff<\/a> just dropped just two points behind her first serve and broke an erratic Swiatek<\/a> five times on her way to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph, needing just 64 minutes to seal victory.<\/p>\n Swiatek once had a commanding 11-1 lead in the head-to-head between the two women, though Gauff now appears to be turning the tables with three straight wins, all in straight sets.<\/p>\n Gauff beat Swiatek in the round-robin stage of the 2024 WTA Finals and the final of the United Cup back in January, before Thursday\u2019s lopsided affair in the Spanish capital.<\/p>\n \u201cI think I was aggressive and played with margin,\u201d said Gauff in her post-match interview.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe it wasn\u2019t her [Swiatek\u2019s] best level today, but I kind of forced her into some awkward positions. I\u2019m really happy with how I played.<\/p>\n \u201cEspecially when you\u2019re playing someone like Iga, you know at any moment she could come back and play great tennis.
