{"id":389,"date":"2025-05-01T14:11:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T14:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=389"},"modified":"2025-05-01T14:11:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T14:11:08","slug":"casper-ruud-matches-stunning-rafael-nadal-feat-with-madrid-open-quarter-final-triumph","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=389","title":{"rendered":"Casper Ruud matches stunning Rafael Nadal feat with Madrid Open quarter-final triumph"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Casper Ruud achieved a rare Masters 1000 feat previously claimed by Rafael Nadal as he sealed his spot in the last four of the Madrid Open.<\/p>\n<p>Three-time Grand Slam finalist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/casper-ruud\">Ruud<\/a> has fallen to world No 15 in the ATP Rankings after a disappointing start to his clay season, with significant points dropped in Monte Carlo and Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>However, he is yet to drop a set inside the Caja Magica, and the 14th seed has now backed up a fourth-round win over third seed Taylor Fritz with a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over ninth seed Daniil Medvedev.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaniil and I, we play a very different game,\u201d said Ruud on <em>Sky Sports Tennis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe [Medvedev] plays much flatter than me, but he serves well and moves great.
