{"id":451,"date":"2025-05-14T15:01:30","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T15:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=451"},"modified":"2025-05-14T15:01:30","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T15:01:30","slug":"coco-gauff-ranks-fifth-in-two-outstanding-stats-after-beating-mirra-andreeva-in-rome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=451","title":{"rendered":"Coco Gauff ranks fifth in two outstanding stats\u00a0after beating Mirra Andreeva in Rome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coco Gauff overcame her young rival Mirra Andreeva in straight sets to progress to the semi-finals of the 2025 Italian Open.<\/p>\n<p>The American clinched a 6-4, 7-6(5) victory over seventh-ranked Andreeva in the last eight at the Foro Italico.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0world No 3 now holds a 4-0 record against Andreeva, and she has won seven consecutive sets against the 18-year-old Russian.<\/p>\n<p>In her on-court interview, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/coco-gauff\">Gauff<\/a>\u00a0said: \u201cI\u2019m feeling really good \u2014 and I feel I have a lot to improve on, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re winning matches and you still feel like you have a whole ceiling to reach, it just makes you feel good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve lost in the semis here a few times, so I\u2019m hoping to get through to the final stage. At the end, my defence, it was tough.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were both tight in the tiebreaker, it was whoever could make the last ball. They\u2019re both tough players. It\u2019s going to be a tough match<br \/>\nregardless of who I play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously I would maybe like to play Aryna because I just played her in Madrid, just to get some revenge (smiling). Obviously Qinwen is tough to play. I have no preference. It\u2019s going to be a tough, hard match either way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 US Open champion added: \u201cI\u2019m really confident on clay. I think it\u2019s a surface that works well for my game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would love to get a big title on clay just because I do love it.
