Jannik Sinner is set to appoint Rafael Nadal\u2019s former coach Carlos Moya for the 2026 season, according to a report.<\/p>\n
Moya will replace Darren Cahill on Sinner<\/a>\u2018s coaching team, with the legendary Australian stepping down from\u00a0coaching on the ATP Tour at the end of the year.<\/p>\n Cahill joined Sinner\u2019s team in July 2022 and, along with Simone Vagnozzi, he has been integral to the Italian\u2019s evolution as a player and the huge success he has enjoyed.<\/p>\n Sinner has won 14 of his 19 career singles titles \u2014 including all three of his Grand Slams \u2014 since appointing Cahill.<\/p>\n The 23-year-old has been the world No 1 since climbing to the pinnacle of the ATP Rankings for the first time in June 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cHe brought me so many things,\u201d Sinner said when asked about Cahill during the 2025 Australian Open. \u201cOne year is still long. I don\u2019t want to talk so much about his retirement.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel very, very lucky and happy to be his last player on tour. He has been an amazing, amazing coach and person, not only for me but for all the other players he has worked with.\u201d<\/p>\n Sofya Tartakova, a tennis journalist for Russian outlet Bolshe!, reported the news of Sinner\u2019s major coaching move in a post on X.<\/p>\n \u201cCarlos Moya to coach Jannik Sinner! As Bolshe! has learned, the world No 1 will start working with the Spanish coach in 2026,\u201d Tartakova wrote.<\/p>\n Moya coached Nadal<\/a> from 2017 until his legendary fellow Mallorcan retired in November 2024, helping him\u00a0win 21 titles, including eight of his 22 Grand Slams and eight Masters 1000 crowns.<\/p>\n The Spaniard reached world No 1 and won 20 titles, including the 1998 French Open, during an illustrious playing career spanning from 1995 to 2010.<\/p>\n \u2018Jannik Sinner will win more than Carlos Alcaraz\u2019, asserts French Open winner<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The 5 French Open men\u2019s singles title favourites \u2013 ranked!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n The report comes as something of a surprise given Moya declared earlier this month that he was in no rush to take another coaching role on the tour.<\/p>\n \u201cMaybe in a few months or a few years I\u2019ll change my mind, but right now, I\u2019m enjoying this moment,\u201d the 48-year-old said during an event in Madrid.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter so much time traveling and competing, a detox period was a good idea.
