{"id":538,"date":"2025-05-31T10:01:44","date_gmt":"2025-05-31T10:01:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=538"},"modified":"2025-05-31T10:01:44","modified_gmt":"2025-05-31T10:01:44","slug":"elena-rybakina-warns-iga-swiatek-she-knows-what-to-do-ahead-of-roland-garros-blockbuster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=538","title":{"rendered":"Elena Rybakina warns Iga Swiatek she knows \u2018what to do\u2019 ahead of Roland Garros blockbuster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Elena Rybakina has hailed Iga Swiatek\u2019s \u201cunbelievable\u201d on-court intensity ahead of their blockbuster clash at the French Open.<\/p>\n<p>Twelfth seed<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/elena-rybakina\"> Rybakina<\/a> and fifth seed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/iga-swiatek\">Swiatek<\/a>, the defending Roland Garros champion, will meet on Sunday in arguably the pick of the round-four match-ups in the women\u2019s draw.<\/p>\n<p>It will be the second time the pair have met in the fourth round of a major tournament, with Rybakina having beaten Swiatek at this stage of the 2023 Australian Open, ultimately going on to reach the final.<\/p>\n<p>The pair split their head-to-head 4-4, and the Kazakh has had some significant success against Swiatek in the past, winning both their meetings on clay \u2013 the surface the Pole has dominated on.<\/p>\n<p>However, one of those wins came via retirement at the Italian Open in 2023, while the other came on the indoor clay of Stuttgart in 2024, where conditions differ dramatically from Roland Garros.<\/p>\n<p>Swiatek is on a 24-match win streak at the French Open and has won the title in four of the past five years, with a 38-2 win-loss record at the event.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking ahead of the contest, Rybakina was under no illusions about the challenge she faces in Paris.<\/p>\n<h2>French Open News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/happy-iga-swiatek-ties-chris-evert-record-latest-french-open-win\">\u2018Happy\u2019 Iga Swiatek ties Chris Evert record after latest French Open win<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/elena-rybakina-update-banned-coach-stefano-vukov-french-open\">Elena Rybakina issues update on her controversial coaching situation at French Open<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, she is very comfortable in this court. But I think every day every match is different,\u201d said Rybakina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, I would try to focus on myself mostly. We played so many times, so I know what to do. And we will see how it goes, but definitely I will do my best.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s tough to play against Iga on clay. She spins the ball really well, and she has unbelievable intensity on the court. So, it is not easy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I feel like Stuttgart is special tournament because it\u2019s indoor, and the clay is also different. In Rome, it was another condition, so, I cannot take it everything is the same.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a tough opponent and she plays really well. She moves really well on the court.
