{"id":543,"date":"2025-06-01T11:17:29","date_gmt":"2025-06-01T11:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=543"},"modified":"2025-06-01T11:17:29","modified_gmt":"2025-06-01T11:17:29","slug":"tim-henman-makes-bold-novak-djokovic-prediction-as-he-looks-beyond-roland-garros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=543","title":{"rendered":"Tim Henman makes bold Novak Djokovic prediction as he looks beyond Roland Garros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tim Henman believes another Roland Garros title may be beyond Novak Djokovic in Paris next weekend \u2013 but he is convinced the Serbian legend can make another challenge to win a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\">Djokovic<\/a> is chasing a 25th Grand Slam singles title, as he looks to move ahead of Margaret Court and become the player with the most major titles in their collection.<\/p>\n<p>That achievement would cement his legacy as the greatest player of all-time and not just in the men\u2019s game, with former British No 1 Henman predicting his moment of glory is unlikely to come on the clay courts of Paris.<\/p>\n<p>Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz have shared the last five Grand Slam titles between them, with Djokovic\u2019s last major title coming at the 2023 US Open.<\/p>\n<p>He insists he is a contender to lift major title No 25 in Paris, but Henman suggests\u00a0Djokovic\u2019s chance to complete his last great tennis dream at Wimbledon, with the grass court Grand Slam getting underway on the last day of June.<\/p>\n<h3>More Tennis News<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/novak-djokovic-french-open-night-session-schedule-champions-league\">Novak Djokovic makes \u2018not getting much sleep\u2019 comment after French Open night session win<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/novak-djokovic-criticism-aryna-sabalenka\">World No 1 slams Novak Djokovic treatment and makes a big plea to his doubters<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would never write Novak off,\u201d Henman told Tennis365 in an exclusive interview conducted in the TNT Sports studio at Roland Garros.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe wasn\u2019t my favourite to win coming into this event, but he was on my list as a potential winner if things went his way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSinner and Alcaraz have separated themselves from the rest at the moment, but Djokovic is in that next batch of half of dozen that could cause a surprise and win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou look at it now and he is through to the fourth round, he came in here on the back of winning a tournament in Geneva and the mood around him feels a little different.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had no clay court form ahead of that tournament in Geneva. He goes to play that tournament a week before a Slam and at his age, you look at that and question if he will be struggling for energy playing extra matches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I think the confidence he takes from a win, his 100th career title, puts him in a good place.
