Coco Gauff conceded she felt a \u201ctemptation\u201d to fire back at\u00a0Aryna Sabalenka after the Belarusian dismissed Gauff\u2019s achievement following the French Open final.<\/p>\n
The American won two sets to one in Paris earlier this month but rather than focus on the second Grand Slam win of her career, the story afterwards was instead on what\u00a0Sabalenka had said.<\/p>\n
While\u00a0Sabalenka<\/strong><\/a> agreed that Gauff<\/strong><\/a> was a deserving champion, she went on to suggest the primary reason for the American winning was her poor performance.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The world No 1 later apologised<\/a> but speaking ahead of the next slam in Wimbledon, Gauff admitted that the initial delay did tempt her to reply.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was very weird,\u201d Gauff admitted. \u201cI\u2019m transparent.
