{"id":700,"date":"2025-07-06T08:16:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T08:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=700"},"modified":"2025-07-06T08:16:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T08:16:09","slug":"novak-djokovic-v-rafael-nadal-v-roger-federer-compared-match-wins-at-the-four-grand-slams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=700","title":{"rendered":"Novak Djokovic v Rafael Nadal v Roger Federer Compared: Match wins at the four Grand Slams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Novak Djokovic has become only the second men\u2019s player to reach 100 match wins at Wimbledon, but how does his record compare to his two great rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the four respective Grand Slams?<\/p>\n<p>The 24-time Grand Slam winner is only the second male after Federer (105) to record a century a victories at Wimbledon, although both are behind the great Martina Navratilova in terms of most-ever wins at the All England Club for both men and women as the nine-time champion has 120 wins.<\/p>\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\">Djokovic<\/a>, though, it is yet another milestone on his impressive list of achievements with win No 100 coming with a straight-set win over Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round at this year\u2019s grass-court Grand Slam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat sounds very nice. I am very grateful and privileged to be in this position. Tennis made me who I am and has given me incredible things in life. I never take anything for granted, especially at this age,\u201d the Serbian said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am still pushing myself to the limits and getting some splits and slides on the court. Wimbledon is a dream tournament of so many of us players. Any history here is a blessing.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Novak Djokovic News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/novak-djokovic-jannik-sinner-comparison\">Novak Djokovic believes one of the new kings of men\u2019s tennis is his natural successor<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/goran-ivanisevic-comments-novak-djokovic-wimbledon-hopes\">Novak Djokovic\u2019s former coach issues \u2018last chance\u2019 verdict on Grand Slam hopes<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, although Djokovic is the only player to have 90 or more match wins at all the Australian Open, French Open, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/category\/grand-slam\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon<\/a> and the US Open, he doesn\u2019t have the outright record in any of the majors.<\/p>\n<p>Not yet anyway.<\/p>\n<h2>Djokovic v Nadal v Federer at the Grand Slams<\/h2>\n<h2>Australian Open<\/h2>\n<p>Although Djokovic holds the record for most titles as he has won the season-opening Grand Slam 10 times, he is actually second on the list for most match wins.<\/p>\n<p>Federer won only six trophies at Melbourne Park, but he won a record 102 match wins before retiring in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic, though, looks set to surpass that milestone as the Serbian currently sits on 99 while two-time champion Nadal had 77 wins Down Under.<\/p>\n<h2>French Open<\/h2>\n<p>With 14 titles at Roland Garros, Nadal was always going to be No 1 with match wins in Paris as he has a record 112 victories with only four (4) defeats in 19 main draw appearances.<\/p>\n<p>But Djokovic has also reached the 100-win milestone as he achieved it during the 2025 edition of the clay-court Grand Slam as he moved to 101.<\/p>\n<p>Federer is a distant third with 73 wins.<\/p>\n<h2>Wimbledon<\/h2>\n<p>Federer won eight Wimbledon trophies and he recorded his 100th win in 2019, but won only another five matches at SW19 before retiring.<\/p>\n<p>The Swiss\u2019s record is in danger of being broken by Djokovic, but the good news for Federer is it won\u2019t be this year as the Serbian can only move up to 104 if he wins the title.<\/p>\n<p>The grass-court major is Nadal\u2019s worst in terms of the Slams as he won 58 matches at Wimbledon, having made only 15 main draw appearances.<\/p>\n<h2>US Open<\/h2>\n<p>First things first, Jimmy Connors has the record for most victories at the US Open as he won 98 matches.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic, though, sits second with 90 and he could potentially move to 97 this year, but then he would have to win the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Five-time US Open champion Federer retired with 89 while Nadal \u2013 a four-time champion in New York \u2013 notched up 67 wins during his career.<\/p>\n<h2>Overall record<\/h2>\n<p>Djokovic might not hold the record for the individual tournaments, but he has the record for total Grand Slam wins as he sits on 390 and counting, ahead of Federer (369) and Nadal (314).<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/australian-open\/novak-djokovic-v-rafael-nadal-v-roger-federer-match-wins-aus-open-french-open-wimbledon-us-open\">Novak Djokovic v Rafael Nadal v Roger Federer Compared: Match wins at the four Grand Slams<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/\">Tennis365<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Novak Djokovic has become only the second men\u2019s player to reach 100 match wins at Wimbledon, but how does his record compare to his two great rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the four respective Grand Slams?
