{"id":785,"date":"2025-07-28T08:10:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T08:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=785"},"modified":"2025-07-28T08:10:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T08:10:09","slug":"wta-rankings-leylah-fernandez-anna-kalinskaya-emma-raducanu-maria-sakkari-soar-after-citi-dc-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tennisring.com\/?p=785","title":{"rendered":"WTA Rankings: Leylah Fernandez, Anna Kalinskaya, Emma Raducanu, Maria Sakkari soar after Citi DC Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leylah Fernandez, Anna Kalinskaya and\u00a0Emma Raducanu have all made healthy leaps in the\u00a0WTA Rankings after their runs at the Citi DC Open.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wta-tour\">WTA<\/a> 500 tournament in Washington was the biggest tour-level women\u2019s event held last week, and there were four top 20 stars in action in Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/elena-rybakina\">Elena Rybakina<\/a> and Clara Tauson.<\/p>\n<p>The top 20 remains unchanged, however, as Pegula and Navarro fell in their opening matches, Tauson lost in the quarter-finals and Rybakina reached the last four.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/leylah-fernandez\">Fernandez<\/a>\u00a0crushed Kalinskaya 6-1, 6-2 in the Washington final to claim her fourth and biggest career title.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old Canadian started the event ranked 36th and she has surged up to 24th with her triumph. Her career-high ranking is world No 13.<\/p>\n<p>Kalinskaya\u2019s search for a maiden WTA Tour title goes on after her third final defeat, but the 26-year-old Russian\u2019s run has lifted her from 48th to 31st in the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Rybakina, who lost to Fernandez in a fiercely-contested semi-final, remains in 12th position.<\/p>\n<h2>WTA Tour News<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/how-many-points-aryna-sabalenka-coco-gauff-jessica-pegula-amanda-anisimova-drop-2025-canadian-open\"><strong>How many points will Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova drop at 2025 Canadian Open?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/wta-canadian-open-draw-coco-gauff-emma-raducanu-handed-tough-paths\"><strong>WTA Canadian Open draw \u2013 Iga Swiatek and Emma Raducanu learn fates as Coco Gauff awaits faces dangerous opener<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/emma-raducanu\">Raducanu<\/a>\u00a0reached her first semi-final of the 2025 season in DC before she was stopped by Kalinskaya.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old Brit is up from 46th to 33rd place \u2014 her highest ranking\u00a0since August 2022, just before the points from her 2021 US Open title dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Since the 2024 Citi Open was staged a week later due to the Olympics, Raducanu will drop the 108 points from her quarter-final result at last year\u2019s event when the rankings next update.<\/p>\n<p>This has dropped Raducanu from 33rd to 42nd in the Live WTA Rankings, but she has the chance to climb back up if she makes a run in Montreal.\u00a0Raducanu did not compete in Canada last year.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Maria Bouzkova has climbed eight places to 39th after beating Linda Noskova to secure the WTA 250 title in Prague.<\/p>\n<p>Maria Sakkari and Taylor Townsend both reached the quarter-finals in Washington, and they have moved up +18 to 72nd and +22 to 75th respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Elina Avanesyan has suffered a 13-place slide to 67th, while Alycia Parks is -16 to world No 74.\u00a0Olga Danilovic has fallen eight spots to 40th.<\/p>\n<h2>WTA Rankings Top 20<\/h2>\n<p>1.
